Kilgore, TX (1/7/15) by DarinShort.com. The 2015 LoneStar Speedway schedule has just been edited and republished with several exciting updates, so lets jump right in:

1) The February 21, 2015 LoneStar SPRINT CAR SMACKDOWN event flyer is now posted and Sprint Car driver registration is now open. Click www.darinshort.com/022115.html and in just a few moments teams can get all set up for the event.

Registering for this event now helps us pre-publicize drivers that will be competing, which is really appreciated by fans and the speedway - the result is it helps us to keep paying these much larger-than-normal size competitor purses. Online registration also saves teams $25, and is open through February 19 (two days before the event).

2) The April 4th Bunny Hop 25 has taken more of a 'leap' than a 'hop,' as it will now feature the first ever SOUTHERN CRATE MODEL SERIES event. And the best part for race fans, there will be NO increase in ticket prices to catch this first-ever Series event!

3) The 'For the Love of Alex, Stop Texting and Driving' event featuring a 25-lap Limited Modified feature event (with a JUMBO SIZED purse and NO ENTRY FEE) is now slated for SUNDAY, MAY 10 at 5PM!

Yes, this is also Mother's Day...and all Mother's will receive $5 Grandstand Admission! It is a LSS points event for all divisions and we're really excited about hosting a Sunday twilight event before it gets hot out. It will allow racers and fans from across the area to take in this event - without missing their Saturday night track. And our plan is to have the races over with by 9pm, so everyone can get back home at a decent hour.

4) The Saturday June 27th points race has now reached 'event' status, as the ASCS GULF SOUTH Region Sprint Cars will invade LoneStar Speedway with a complete racing program...in addition to the previously scheduled LSS points divisions! Adult GA tickets are just $15!

5) The 3rd Annual $10,000 to win ARMADILLO NATIONALS has a NEW RACE DATE! It will now be held on the third weekend of September, the 17th-19th. This will allow all Modified teams to be accommodated, due to an event at another track that has changed their traditional September race date to the 4th weekend of September.

And, the Texas Motor Speedway U.S. Dirt Track National Championships is a week before the Armadillo Nationals, which will work out great for teams and fans as well.

6) The October 10th Texas Sprint Car Championships is now sanctioned by the ASCS RED RIVER Region, and teams from throughout the area will be on hand. The Texas Factory Stock Championships will round out this doubleheader event.

The continued three track alliance between LoneStar, Boothill and Ark-La-Tex Speedway's has really made it a challenge for the promoters schedules...especially when it comes to accommodating traveling series.

But those efforts will serve as a huge benefit to all area racers and fans, as they don't have to pick or choose which race they go to - as now they won't miss a lap at any of them in 2015! It's going to be a great season of action, so make plans now to be a part of it all!

For more information, and to print out the new 2015 LoneStar Speedway schedule, visit www.LoneStarSpeedway.com (and the schedule link is at the bottom of the 'resources' section). Best of luck to all competitors as the 2015 season fires up in about six weeks!

Lots of Off-Season Projects at LoneStar Speedway; OPEN PRACTICE DATES FEB. 8 & 15

Kilgore, TX (1/27/15) by DarinShort.com. Several off-season projects have either been completed, or are well underway at LoneStar Speedway in anticipation of the 2015 racing season:

-The entire backstretch has been raised one food with new clay, which allows for a consistent banking from bottom to top.

-200 yards of new clay has been added to turns 3 and 4.

-Two handicap bathroom stalls (men and women) have been built. They are located by main concession stands along with new concrete handicap ramps.

-At the entrance to ticket gate, enlarged concrete walking area with new hand railing.

-New grandstand sound system going in. (after the last one chose to 'retire itself' at the end of the last race of 2014, LOL)

-Increased underground track drainage, which allows for even quicker drainage from rainstorms. LoneStar has been able to get in a lot of races due to the underground drainage system.

-Track entrance in corner 4 wall extended (to help keep excess rainfall from flooding track surface and to discourage drivers from making a track exit there).

Make plans now to join us for OPEN PRACTICE & Registration for ALL RACING DIVISION - SUNDAY FEB. 8 & 15; from Noon-4pm. All pit passes are $15, while the grandstands are free to anyone that would like to check out the new track changes and the new cars drivers have been working on during the off-season.

$13,000 LoneStar Speedway Awards Bash Sunday 11/30

$13,000 LoneStar Speedway Awards Bash Sunday 11/30

$13,000 LoneStar Speedway Awards Bash, Sunday, Nov. 30

Kilgore, TX (11/11/14) by DarinShort.com. Sunday, November 30th at 1pm, LoneStar Speedway (LSS) drivers, crews, families, fans, track sponsors and track workers will gather at the speedway to celebrate and commemorate the 2014 LSS racing season with its annual Awards Bash and point’s fund distribution.

As in 2013, $13,000 in cash, plus awards, will be presented to drivers that supported the speedway throughout the 2014 racing season.

There were 12 points races scheduled in 2014, and all 12 events were completed (ironically, the same was the case in 2013). The guaranteed minimum point fund was $10,000, since all the races got in the track was able to pay out more than advertised.

There was only one weather-delayed points event, and that was the March 28th season opener with the World of Outlaws Late Model Series, which, the points divisions were able to race the following night.

As in years’ past, there was no association fee or sanctioning fees that LSS drivers had to pay to be eligible for the point fund money. Drivers simply registered their cars and competed in LSS events to be eligible.

The LSS Awards Bash will take place on the heels of the November 29th $34,000 Turkey Nationals, which features $5,000 to win and $500 to start for the SUPR Topless Late Models. All three LoneStar points divisions will be racing – however this is not a point’s race. Click www.LoneStarSpeedway.com for complete event details. Action kicks off at 2pm.

Here are the specifics of the LSS Awards Bash being held in the main grandstand area at LSS:

- Grandstand entrance/ticket sales open at 12:45pm, Sunday November 30th

- Food served from 1pm-2:30pm

- Awards distribution from 1:30pm-2:30pm

- Each driver in the top 10 in points (listed below) receives free admittance, plus each of those drivers receive three more free tickets to the event (to give out to their crew or family members). Additional tickets just $10.

- This event is open to all. Purchase tickets upon your arrival. All ages are just $10 each

- Your admittance includes a your choice of Steak, Chicken or Sausage; with baked potato, salad, desserts, beverages and more.

The track schedule is basically finished, but it will be coming out shortly thereafter. Our schedule is fully synched with Boothill Speedway and Ark-La-Tex Speedway; as was the case this year, which allows racers and fans to not have to pick and choose which area track to race at.

We hope to see you all Saturday November 29th for the final event of the 2014 season with the running of the $34,000 Turkey Nationals, and on Sunday November 30th as we salute our champions at the LSS Awards Bash!
