The weather forecast for today is fantastic, with clear skies and race time temps of a 'cool' 78 degrees. Joining the SUPR Late Models will be $1000 to win for the Modifieds, $500 to win for the Limited Modifieds & $300 to win for Factory Stocks. Races start right at 8pm.

SUPR “Patriot Day 40” to Take On LoneStar High Banks Sept. 8

Kilgore TX (8/29/12) by DarinShort.com. The stars and cars of the SUPR Late Model Series will hit the high banks of LoneStar Speedway (LSS) in Kilgore Texas with the running of the “Patriot Day 40” on Saturday, September 8th.

A large field of Late Model division drivers can be expected from throughout the region, including LoneStar SUPR Firecracker 40 winner Kevin Sitton; plus Allen Tippen, Rob Litton, Jim Bryant, Robbie Starnes, Zack McMillan, Ronny Adams, Robbie Stuart, Ray Moore, Tyler Erb – and many, many more.

In addition to the SUPR Late Model Series, a complete program of Modified (paying $1,000 to win), Limited Modified ($500 to win) and Factory Stocks ($300 to win) will compete. Their purse and rules are located at the track website.

Track owners Sam & Lisa Hafertepe have continued their mission of keeping racing events at LoneStar Speedway as ‘family-friendly pricing’ as possible by holding adult race tickets to just $15.

Note that this is the final “Summer Hours” starting time of 8pm at LoneStar Speedway for 2012. The pits will open at 5pm, grandstands 6pm, with hot laps around 8pm and racing to follow.

Here are some quick facts for the event:

-General Admission just $15 (ages 12 and older; tickets available at the gate on race day only)

-Kids (ages 6-11) just $5

-Upgrade any ticket to the Reserved Section (bucket seats) for $5 per person

-If you purchase tickets with MasterCard or Visa, there is a $1/ticket processing fee.

-All Pit Passes $30

-No outside food/drink coolers are allowed inside, a full selection of economically priced food concessions, including beer, are available. Soft drinks and bottled water are just $1 each.

8/26AM UPDATE: THANK YOU to everyone who joined us last night for the final 'Thunder' event of 2012.

It definitely started out on an inauspicious note when two cars flipped in hot laps alone; but once the racing started it was a fast and furious night.

It was a beautiful night for racing with over 100 cars in the pit area, and an excellent crowd on hand.

8/25 4PM RACE DAY UPDATE: It has not rained at the track all day today and the radar shows all the precip headed far east of here; so everything is all set for a great night of racing tonight at LoneStar Speedway; with the first green flag schedule to drop around 8pm.

The pit gates are open right now to accommodate out of town drivers that are headed this way due to their hometown track being rained out.

8/25 A.M. RACE DAY UPDATE! TEMPS in the LOW 80's FORECAST for TONIGHT at 8pm! Much, much better than last races' 110 degree heat index! 'Thunder' round TONIGHT, Saturday, August 25th at LoneStar Speedway....over $6,000 cash is posted for STS/RaceSaver Sprint teams alone, and the feature pays $200 to start (24th).

NOAA still shows a 30% chance of isolated t-storms primarily during the day and highs in the upper 80's. But as of 8:30AM the radar is not showing anything that will affect the area. We will monitor it throughout the day.

Joining the STS series will be the final appearance of the fully powered Ark-La-Tex Winged Modifieds, $1,000 to win Modifieds, $500 to win Limited Modifieds and $300 to win Factory Stocks.

LoneStar Schedule Changes for 8/11 & 8/25

Kilgore TX (7/19/12) by DarinShort.com. The popular final round of “Thunder on the High Banks” for Southern Thunder Sprints (STS) event scheduled for August 11th at LoneStar Speedway (LSS) has been moved to August 25th which includes the existing program of Ark-La-Tex Winged Modified Series.

Although there will be no racing at LSS on August 11th, it will make for a great night of action packed racing on August 25th, as the three LSS points divisions will also be racing that night; with $1,000 to win Modifieds, $500 to win for the Limited Modifieds and $300 to win for the Factory Stocks.

A reminder that STS is RaceSaver® sanctioned, and drivers can also choose to run the Southern Thunder Sprint (STS) or Sprint Series of Texas (SST) right rear tire – and that goes for all remaining RaceSaver Sprint events at LoneStar in 2012. This is the final “Thunder on the High Banks” series events scheduled for 2012 at LSS.

Fans can expect STS drivers including: Alan Myers, Cody Harger, Cody Robbins, Marty Hargroeder, Ty Johnson, Regan Hawkins, Matt Ebarb, Koty Adams, David Forbis & a host of several others.

At this time, we’d also like to wish a speedy recovery to STS driver Josh Hawkins who was recently injured in a non-racing accident. We look forward to seeing you behind the wheel again soon!

TONIGHT! July 28th, is going to be an exciting night of racing when the LoneStar 25 for RaceSaver sanctioned Sprint Cars takes on the high banks of the wide expanses of LoneStar Speedway in Kilgore.

The forecast shows 93 degrees and clear at 8pm race time, with temps falling into the mid-80's throughout the evening; so it will make for great racing conditions! Adult tickets are just $12!

***RaceSaver Drivers: make sure to read 'LoneStar 25 Qualifying System' under 'resources' on the right of this page.

Over $8,000 is up for grabs to RaceSaver Sprint Car teams (which will be converging upon LSS from throughout the region!) and there is no entry fee or increased pit charge. RaceSaver teams can continue to choose either the SST or STS RR tire at all 2012 LSS RaceSaver sanctioned events. Adult grandstand admission is just $12.

In the event that there are RaceSaver teams that don't qualify for the feature race (24 starters) July 28, they will each receive $100 in non-qualifiers money.

There are several teams that have indicated they are traveling a distance to come to this event, so we are guaranteeing this additional purse in the event there is a B-feature.

Reminder, this is a RaceSaver sanctioned race and it will follow RaceSaver.com rules; so plan to have your engine teched for compliance. SST or STS RR tires are your option.

We would like each driver to state which Series they are representing when they sign in (LBS, STS or SST); as the top finishing driver in each 'series' will receive a $100 cash bonus, as previously advertised.

Joining the LoneStar 25 will be a complete program for the Ark-La-Tex Winged Modifieds (making their first 2012 LSS appearance), plus a complete points event for the LoneStar Speedway Modifieds ($1000 to win), Limited Modifieds ($500 to win) and Factory Stocks ($300 to win).

And now "THE SHED", Shed Road Auto Parts of Bossier City, LA has added a $100 cash 'mystery drawing' to a RaceSaver driver finishing outside of the top 5 in the feature race this Saturday during the LoneStar 25.

The finishing number will be drawn randomly by track officials before the race, but will not be announced until the race is completed.

**7/3/12 UPDATE: Although the news announcement of the "LoneStar 25" RaceSaver Sprint Special at LoneStar Speedway on Saturday July 28th is just a day old, Bell Pawn Shop of Jacksonville Texas has stepped up their commitment to the event and is adding $25 each for drivers finishing in 10th through 21st; which is a total increase of $300.

“LoneStar 25” RaceSaver Sprint Special July 28 at LoneStar Speedway

Kilgore TX (7/3/12) by DarinShort.com. What’s sure to become a big hit with the fans and drivers alike, the LoneStar 25 for RaceSaver® sprint cars will take to the the high banks of LoneStar Speedway (LSS) on Saturday July 28th, and will be competing for a substantially increased race purse.

A rapidly growing list of cash and prizes are being gathered for this event for the RaceSaver teams, and at the time of writing include the following:

-$500 in added cash has been spread through positions 2nd-9th courtesy of ASI Racing Engines of Lubbock, TX.
-$200 Hard Charger Award, by Kustom Kraft Exhibits of Seagoville, TX (driver advancing most spots in feature).
-$200 cash from Bell Pawn Shop in Jacksonville, TX for RaceSaver driver with the Furthest Tow to LoneStar.
-Three $100 cash drawings, by Kustom Kraft Exhibits of Seagoville, TX (drawn from all A-feature competitors).
-$100 cash to each to the following: top finishing STS, SST and LBS sprint series drivers. (A total of $300 cash.)

For RaceSaver drivers finishing outside of the top 5 finishing positions, the following drawings will be held:

UPDATE POSTED 6/22/12: And now, Mindi and Michael Jones, owners of the #50 Factory Stock driven by Billy Meazell, have added $700 cash to the winners share of the Factory Stock feature on July 7th - making it $1,000 to win!

There is no entry fee or added cost to the competitors, but the race distance will be increased for this special event from 15 laps to 20.

LoneStar’s Red Dirt Rendezvous Features Top Live Performances on June 23

Taking place at LSS from 2PM - Midnight on Saturday, June 23rd; tickets start at a 'cheap as Red Dirt' price of just $15 for the entire 5-act show.
