$10,000 to win LoneStar Armadillo Nationals – Sept. 25-27!

Kilgore TX (8/5/14) by DarinShort.com. LoneStar Speedway (LSS) in Kilgore Texas is pleased to announce the return of one of the biggest paying Modified and Stock Car events of the season with the 2nd Annual $10,000 to win Armadillo Nationals, September 25-27, 2014; presented by DAY Motorsports, Smiley’s Racing Products and Blaine’s Motor Supply.

A special event site is now open for racers and fans. By clicking www.darinshort.com/arm.html you can view the event flyer, preregister your car, purchase 3-day pit passes, review the rules, area hotels, check out the LoneStar Campground and much more. Race teams are required to read the rules section prior to race weekend so they are familiar with the unique qualifying format.

The 2013 event saw incredible racing on all three nights, with 169 race teams from 11 states participating in the fast-paced, three-division program.

All three LSS points divisions will again be in action over the three day extravaganza, which utilizes a very exciting and fan-friendly format. The drivers really enjoyed our Armadillo format last year and it will be exactly the same in 2014.

All cars must be LSS legal, and track points will be awarded. All drivers will receive 25 track points for participating in the Armadillo Nationals. There is no car registration fee due if your team is not a LSS point’s driver.

Modifieds will be racing for $10,000 to win and $500 to start (24th). The Limited Modified feature winner will take home $3,000, and the first Factory Stock to take the checkers will receive $2,000.

A super-sized competitor purse is being offered – yet without excessive entry fee or pit pass costs for the drivers, plus a great 3-day pass offer for the race fans.

DAY Motorsports Modifieds Saturday Feature Payback (50 Laps):

Early online entry $80 through 9/23/14, and it guarantees teams of a minimum of $150 in non-qualifier money if they do not make the championship event. Early entry runs through Tuesday night, September 23rd (two days before the race). Entries received at the track are $25 higher and are not guaranteed non-qualifier money.

Smiley’s Racing Products Limited Modified Saturday Feature (30 Laps):

$3,000-1,500-1,000-800-700-600-500-400-380-360-340-320-300-280-260-240...to 24th. Early entry runs through Tuesday night, September 23rd (two days before the race). Entries received at the track are $25 higher and are not guaranteed non-qualifier money.

Blaine’s Motor Supply Factory Stock Saturday Feature (30 Laps):

$2,000-1,300-1,000-800-700-600-500-400-380-360-340-320-300-280-260-240...to 24th. Early Factory Stock pre-entry is $55, and it guarantees teams of a minimum of $100 in non-qualifier money if they do not make the championship event. Early entry runs through Tuesday night, September 23rd (two days before the race). Entries received at the track are $25 higher and are not guaranteed non-qualifier money.

All divisions will be scored electronically, to ensure promptness and accurateness. A one-time transponder rental fee of $25 per car for the race weekend will be charged upon your arrival to the track on race night. Drivers will also receive a smart phone link that will allow them to see real-time lineups and results.

Pit passes are at regular prices for qualifying nights, $30. Championship night pit passes are $35. However, you can purchase a 3-day pit pass on the event website for $90. 3-day online pit passes will be on sale through Sept. 23.

Ticket prices to this event are very affordable – and are available on race nights only. No advance tickets will be sold. On Thursday and Friday, it’s just $12 for adult general admission, while the Saturday night championship is $20. Seniors/active military can enjoy the racing action for $10 each on Thursday and Friday, with $18 tickets on Saturday. Youth ages 6 to 11 are $5 each night. Seating in the reserved section is a $5 upgrade to any ticket on each night.

New for 2014: Three-Day General Admission Grandstand Pass is just $35! That’s right, you can get in to see all three nights of the $10,000 to win Armadillo Nationals for less than going to three regularly priced LSS events! There are no advance ticket sales to this event, and you can purchase your three-day armband when you arrive to the speedway on opening night of the event, September 25th.

Complete division rules are posted at the track website. An event flyer has been posted under the ‘resources’ section of the track website as well.

Here is the basic event structure for all three divisions for the LoneStar Armadillo Nationals:

-This is not a ‘split field’ qualifying format. Meaning, all cars race all three days. Your highest point total on Thursday OR Friday will be used to determine your Saturday night lineup. Except, the top 4 finishers in the Thu/Fri A-features will automatically lock in the front four rows of the Saturday night feature. The next six positions in the Saturday finale will be locked in by the top six drivers in points (from Thursday or Friday points). The balance of the cars in each division will go directly into two B-features (and possibly C-feature). A total of 10 cars total will advance from the B-features to the A-feature. Nightly heat races will be draw for position with finishing position and passing points being awarded. There is no penalty whatsoever for racing both Thursday and Friday night. We encourage drivers to race all three nights.

-Electronic timing and scoring will be used for all divisions. A one-time $25 transponder rental fee is due at sign in. This will ensure all teams being scored to the best that is possible, along with having live lineups and results quickly available for all of the teams and fans to keep tabs on their smart phones during the event. Professional Motor Sports Solutions of Charlotte, NC is providing timing and scoring throughout the weekend, as they have the past three years.

$10,000+ LoneStar Points Battle Rages On, Stage Set for August 16th Showdown!

Kilgore, TX (8/11/14) by DarinShort.com. The next event on deck at LoneStar Speedway (LSS) is August 16th, starring Twin Factory Stock features. Full points and full purse awarded for each feature. After the August 16th event, there is only ONE remaining full-points event left in the $10,000+ LSS Points Championship point fund chase!

Last year, $13,000 in cash - plus prizes - were awarded to 30 loyal LoneStar Speedway drivers, spread out between the three LSS points divisions.

A similar point fund is expected for this year and will be awarded after the Turkey Nationals at LoneStar Speedway (held in November). Details on that event will be posted this fall.

The Sept. 25-27 Armadillo Nationals at LSS will award 25 points to all drivers that participate, and is the final LSS Championship point event for 2014. Click www.darinshort.com/arm.html for complete event information, camping and competitor registration.

There have been LSS 9 points events thus for in 2014 (of 9 scheduled), and so far there have been a whopping 267 drivers receiving points in the three LSS points divisions, including: 66 Modifieds, 88 Limited Modifieds and 113 Factory Stocks.

We would like to take the time to thank all those drivers for supporting a track throughout the racing season. We are proud to be able to offer such a strong points fund - without drivers having to pay for a license or association fee.

We would also like to thank our FANtastic fan base for their continual support, which allows us to keep turning up the volume on race purses and point funds - in turn - has led to larger and more consistent car counts.

Through the 7/26 LSS event, here are the current point standings in all three LSS points divisions:

AUG. 16: TWIN FEATURES & $10 CARLOAD NIGHT!

AUG. 16: TWIN FEATURES & $10 CARLOAD NIGHT!

AUG. 16 LoneStar has it all: TWIN FEATURES & Annual $10 CARLOAD NIGHT!

Kilgore TX (7/16/14) by DarinShort.com. One of the most dramatic nights of racing in LoneStar Speedway (LSS) history was when Twin Features night for Factory Stocks took place…and race fans should mark their calendars now, as the Twin Features for Factory Stocks will return on Saturday, August 16th!

But that’s not all. It’s also the annual “$10 CARLOAD NIGHT” at LSS, where no matter how many people you cram in your car, $10 will get your entire carload a general admission grandstand ticket for the night’s racing program!

And that’s still not all! It’s also our annual “BACK TO SCHOOL BASH”, which means kids ages 12 and under will receive a bag full of free school supplies upon their entrance into the grandstand area. Plus kids will be entered into our bike giveaways held that night!

The night of fun and wild on-track racing action will be a full point’s night for the Modifieds (paying $1,000 to win and $100 to start) and Limited Modifieds ($500 to win). Each point’s and full-purse feature race for the Factory Stocks will pay $300 to win. The Beginner Factory Stocks will conclude the night’s racing action with their feature event. There is no entry fee in any race division 8/16.

Any driver not making a feature race will receive non-qualifier money. Modifieds receive $50, Limited Modifieds receive $30, while any non-qualifiers in the Factory Stocks will receive $20.

The format for the Twin Features for Factory Stocks will be identical to the last time LSS ran twin features:

-Factory Stock drivers will sign in, as normal. Qualifying heat races and B-feature(s) will determine the lineup in the first feature race.

-The second, or ‘twin’, Factory Stock feature will line up according to cars that finished on the lead lap of the first feature – but inverted. Then, the remaining lineup will be filled by cars not finishing on the lead lap, then drivers that didn’t finish the first feature (if they’re able to restart), then B-feature alternate drivers not making the first feature.

-Each Factory Stock feature will be 20 laps, and their feature events will be run first and last in the night’s schedule, so drivers will have time to prep their cars for the second feature.

-Each Factory Stock feature will be the following payback: $300-200-180-160-140-120-100-80-80-60-60-40…to start.

-Both Factory Stock features are full LSS championship point’s events, as was the last time we held them.

The last time we held the Twin Features for Factory Stocks, an unbelievable sequence of events occurred.

First off, there were 21 drivers that finished on the lead lap of the first feature, resulting in a 21-car invert in the second feature! Yet, somehow the winner of the first feature, DeWayne Pace, managed to recover from being caught up in an incident at the start of the second feature, then methodically picked off cars here and there to eventually take the lead of the second feature in its closing laps, somehow winning both events!

We’re hoping for another exciting return of the ‘Twins’ on August 16th – so don’t miss it!

This is Round #10 of 12 in the LoneStar Championship Points Series that pays out a minimum of $10,000 to top finishing LSS points drivers. Rules for all divisions are on the track website. All pit passes are $30. Click www.LoneStarSpeedway.com for additional details.

Again, it’s carload night, so you will pay the attendant on the entrance to the parking lot $10 upon your arrival – regardless how many people are in your car. There are no other costs associated with getting into the grandstand area. If you choose to sit in the reserved section, as always, it is an add-on of $5 per person.

Reminder that ‘summer hours’ are in effect: racing begins at 8pm. We have found that the summer hours program is working really well, as it helps keep the track in optimum condition on hot summer days.

A complete event flyer for August 16th has been posted under the ‘resources’ section of the track website.

Here are some quick facts for the Saturday August 16th Twin Features/Carload Night/Back to School Bash:
