$27,000 THUNDER on the HIGH BANKS Returns to LoneStar Speedway - SUNDAY MAY 29th!

*EVENT FLYER for 5/29 under 'Resources*

Kilgore TX (5/23/16) by DarinShort.com. As long as we receive Mother Nature's permission, race fans will finally get to enjoy the return of 'Thunder on the High-Banks' on Sunday, May 29th (Memorial Day weekend) when the high powered ASCS Gulf South region Sprint Car teams will invade LoneStar Speedway (LSS). Last year's event was rained out, so we're hoping not to have a 'repeat performance' in that category. Current forecasts show warm and dry conditions for race night.

The ASCS Sprint Cars will be racing for $3,000 to win and $310 to start. Joining them will be a complete LSS points program - with bumped-up purse structures:

Modifieds will pay $1,250/win and $100/start, while the Limited Modified winner will take home $750 and it pays down to $60/start, the first Factory Stock driver to cross the checkers will receive $500 in their feature that pays down to $40/start. Complete purse structure in all divisions is posted below. The new Front Wheel Drive 4-Cylinders will round out the 5-division racing card.

A fantastic field of ASCS Sprint Cars is expected, including drivers such as Channin Tankersley (current points leader), Ray Allen Kulhanek, Tommy Bryant, Travis Rilat, Dustin Gates, Michael McNeil, Jacob Lucas, Zane Lawrence, J.J. Simmons, Scottie McDonald, Harry Yerrington, Cody Stacy, John Pate, Randy Allen, Caleb Martin, Bruce Crockett & many more from throughout the region.

Keeping up with LoneStar's goal to offer quality racing, great competitor purses - while still at family-affordable pricing - Adult (ages 12-64) tickets to Thunder on the High Banks are just $17, while ages 6-11 are $5, and ages 65+/Active Military can take in the full night of racing for just $15. All pit passes for all ages are $35.

Hot laps Sunday May 29th fire off at 7pm, with the Pits opening by 3pm and the Grandstands by 5:30pm. LSS Draw Cut-Off at 6:30pm with the LSS drivers Pit Meeting at 6:45pm. Drivers, please make sure to arrive on time so we can keep the show moving on schedule.

Driver registration for the LSS points divisions is required, and the $30 registration fee goes right back into the Drivers Point Fund - which has averaged over $10,000/year the past three years. Sprint Cars do not register.

Trisha and Robert Taylor have stepped up to help raise awareness of the dangers of texting and driving, and also helping to increase the competitor purse in the LSS points divisions for this special night of racing.

On April 26, 2010 Trisha and Robert Taylor received the call that forever changed their lives, as their daughter Alex had been in an accident and was being taken by air flight to East Texas Medical Center, and would not survive her injuries. The accident was attributed to texting and driving.

Robert is veteran LoneStar Speedway driver, along with his wife Trisha, continue to help raise awareness of the dangers of texting and driving, at their Facebook page titled For the love of Alex Stop Texting and Driving.

Click www.facebook.com/ForTheLoveOfAlexStopTextingAndDriving to ‘like’ the page and learn more about their awareness efforts.

If you, or your business, are interested in being a part of this special awareness event, send an email to Racemanrt90@gmail.com and Trisha Taylor will get back in touch with you with more information.

This will be a point’s race for all LoneStar divisions, and was originally advertised to be $1,300 to win, each, for the Modifieds, Factory Stocks and Limited Modifieds. The new FWD 4-Cylinders will round out the 4-division racing card.

However, Bumper to Bumper Auto Parts in Vivian LA has added $100 to win for the Limited Modifieds and Factory Stocks; plus the winners of the Modfieds, Factory Stocks and Limited Modifieds will also receive a new VP Racing fuel jug. Special thanks to Chris Franks and the Bumper to Bumper Auto Parts staff for their support of this event.

We would also like to thank Jim Hitz of All Points Systems Wholesale Copiers - Marshall, TX (phone 318-465-5075) for adding $500 to the total event purse. Jim also races at LSS regularly.

There are no added competitor entry fees in any division on May 21st.

Kilgore, TX (4/29/16) by DarinShort.com. There's no 'pill' to fix the weather for LoneStar Speedway this weekend, as our backup plan has now rained out as well for Saturday, April 30th.

But, that will just make our next event that much more special, on Saturday May 21st with the running of the For The Love of Alex, Stop Texting and Driving - featuring $1,300 to win each feature races for the Modifieds, Factory Stocks and Limited Modifieds!

LoneStar is Racing Saturday, April 30th; USMTS Swing Postponed

Kilgore TX (4/27/16) by DarinShort.com. This coming Saturday, April 30th at LoneStar Speedway (LSS) was to feature the third leg of a weekend USMTS swing. However, the bulk of those teams travel in excess of 12 hours, and the current weather forecast doesn't look favorable for racing, so all three of the USMTS swing events have been postponed (makeup date to be announced).

However, LoneStar Speedway will still attempt to host a complete night of points division racing including the Modifieds, Factory Stocks and the Limited Modifieds. The FWD 4-Cylinder division will round out the 4-division racing card.

After the April 9th rained out as well, LoneStar will resume the previously advertised "Modified Mania" for the high-powered LoneStar Modifieds racing for $1,200 to win. The Limited Modifieds will race for $500 to win, the Factory Stock feature winner will take home $300 and the new FWD 4-Cylinder division winner will collect $100. Complete purse breakdown is posted under 'resources' at the track website - like all LSS events. Non-qualifier money will be paid in each division, as always.

There are no entry fees or increased pit pass fees for this event. And grandstand tickets will be dropped down to $12 for adults, $10 seniors/active military, $5 kids (ages 6-11), and all pit passes for all ages are $30.

Note that the Winged Modifieds that were originally part of Modified Mania will not be available on April 30.

In the event that weather does roll in, then at least we don't have to worry about sending National drivers back home with empty pockets and large fuel bills to pay. Our local teams can be notified within a few hours of a possible rainout without incurring any travel expense. So, we will see what transpires by Saturday morning, and maybe we can still sneak a race in. Stay tuned to our FB page, the track website and the racing message boards for near-instant updates.

RaceCeivers are required for drivers; however mufflers at LoneStar Speedway are not required (unless required by your Series), so race fans can hear the cars the way nature intended for them to be heard!

Here are the quick facts for the Saturday April 30th LoneStar Speedway Modified Mania event:
